The Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies (CIIT) in the Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is recruiting a full time Assistant or Associate Professor. The position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and will be on the faculty-scientist pathway. Anticipated start date is Fall 2024.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct translational laboratory and/or clinical research in an area relevant to immune cell development and/or function, including, but not limited to immunodeficiencies, immune dysregulation, cell therapies, genetic engineering or in vivo delivery.

In addition to leading their own independent research program, the candidate will provide up to 25% effort to the clinical care of patients as part of the talented Immunology team at Seattle Children’s Hospital. They will join a diverse and robust team of clinicians, physician-scientists, and other scientists within CIIT to participate in the diagnosis, treatment and advancement of knowledge and novel therapeutics for immune based diseases.

The SCRI campus is in the heart of Seattle's biotechnology community, and within walking distance to academic partners including the University of Washington, the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center and the Benaroya Research Institute, as well as several prominent biotechnology institutions, SCRI provides a vibrant, collaborative, and well-funded research environment with excellent facilities that facilitate collaborative relationships. SCRI based faculty are also active participants in University of Washington based graduate training programs including Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, M3D, MSTP and others.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. 

This position requires an MD or DO, or foreign equivalent. A DO/PhD combined or MD/PhD combined (or foreign equivalent) is also acceptable. Board certification or board eligibility in Allergy and Immunology or Pediatric Rheumatology is also required. The successful applicant must also be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
