Bioinformatics Research Officer

(Level A) $75,888 to $102,040 or (Level B) $107, 276 to $126,894 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed term, full time position available for 3 years.

As a key contributor to our research team, you will pioneer AI-driven methods to analyse cancer-related biological data, aiming to uncover novel patterns and mechanisms underlying cancer progression and treatment response. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary experts and impact the field of cancer research through the power of data-driven discovery.

We are seeking a passionate and driven individual with a strong background in bioinformatics, AI, or related fields. The successful candidate will have the chance to work within a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to ground-breaking discoveries with real-world implications for cancer patients.

To be successful you will need: 

• A PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering (awarded) or equivalent.
• An excellent record of research accomplishments in relevant fields, evident through high-impact publications in leading journals and conferences.
• Expertise in machine learning and deep learning techniques, demonstrated through research projects and publications.
• Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, or R.
• Strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and a track record of successful collaborations.
