Research Assistant I - Dr. Pavan Bachireddy's Laboratory

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant I position is to provide technical assistance in the Bachireddy Laboratory (under Dr. Pavan Bachireddy) carrying out various research projects. Will learn/be trained in single cell RNA/DNA sequencing and preparation of molecular libraries thereafter. Thus, an enthusiastic, curious, careful and thorough mindset is required. Applicant should be excited to join a lab culture of creativity, camaraderie, and collegiality.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Research Experiments and Projects
** Performs basic molecular biology and tissue culture techniques in manipulation of DNA, RNA. **Will complete a wide array of experimental procedures including PCR and libraries of single cell (e.g. of different projects in the lab).

Laboratory Function
**Perform multiple PCR or other bench techniques as needed. **Perform Quantification and Quality controls of the libraries using different platforms. **Record and evaluate data obtained in accordance with methods requested and reports the findings to the PI.

Laboratory Maintenance
**Maintains clean and neat work area in laboratory to ensure efficient functioning plus pleasant/safe work environment at 10X room, maintaining inventory. **Follows written instructions/operations manuals. **Other duties as assigned

Education Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences. Education Preferred: None. Experience Required: No experience. Experience Preferred: Some experience in scientific or experimental research work. PCR experience.
