We use time-lapse confocal microscopy coupled with various genetic approaches to identify molecular components regulating epithelial cellular processes such as cell detachment, migration and proliferation.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with zebrafish (or other aquatic organisms) or experience working with cultured cells.

· Assists principal investigator with scientific research projects focused on understanding the role of cell extrusion in epithelial tissue homeostasis and tumorigenesis.

· Functions in a separate and independent manner in the design and initiation of research experiments. These experiments include, but are not limited to, assessment of potentially altered homeostatic mechanisms using zebrafish with chemical and genetic perturbations, immunohistochemistry, gene expression, and other approaches.

· Adapts or designs equipment used in experiments or research to obtain desired results.

· Develops new analytical approaches to visualize the resulting data.
