Massage Therapist (part-time benefits eligible 20 hours)

The mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.
Job Responsibilities
Provide relaxation massages to patients and family members.
Verifies the physician's clearance orders for massage.
Reviews chart for contraindications/precautions for treatment and inspects the area to be treated.
Properly positions, drapes and treats patient.
Observes/assesses patient for any unexpected and/or undesirable physical/emotional reactions, suspends treatment, provides appropriate intervention and then reports them to physician/nurse as indicated.
Documents service provided.
Maintains equipment and supplies, follows institutional infection control policies and adheres to policies
Refers patients to other programs and services.
Participates in outreach programs, conferences, retreats and other activities as part of program offerings.
Participates in program evaluation processes and committee meetings.
Education Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Required - One year experience as a licensed massage therapist in a corporate or community setting. Licensure as a Massage Therapist from Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
