What You Will Achieve

You will be a member of Pfizer's dedicated and highly effective Quality Systems Team. As a BQ Lab Analyst I, you will perform basic analysis for raw materials, in process and/or finished products in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. In addition, you will have an active role performing microbiological and analytical testing to evaluate the quality of the incoming raw materials and analyze the finished product to demonstrate that the quality of our products meets the high standards of quality.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Report testing results through computerized systems, or through standard laboratory paper-based documentation. Other related duties essential to these operations or special assignments as required.
  • Consistently adheres to company, site, and laboratory safety rules and immediately raises any safety issues with supervision as soon as they are identified.
  • Follows procedures at all times, adopting cGMP, cGDP practices.
  • Follows supervisor directions at all times.
  • Able to function independently but asks questions as necessary.
  • Accepts dynamic work sequences
  • Actively participates in daily and weekly planning discussions with his/her teammates and supervision (as needed) offering suggestions to improve Right First Time and schedule adherence as needed.
  • Consistently communicates work sequence status to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Where scheduled work was not achieved, actively participates in discussions to identify opportunities for correction and improvement.
  • Demonstrates engagement in helping to achieve BQ laboratory, team, and individual goals.
  • When faced with roadblocks and issues, routinely offers suggestions for improvements.
  • Is a positive influence on the BQ laboratory, often going out of his/her way to support and assist teammates wherever possible.
  • Has basic understanding of pipette usage, Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET), Growth Promotion Qualification (GPQ) Testing, microbial identification, including gram stain.


Qualifications
  • BS/MS in Microbiology or related scientific field with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills and computer skills


Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Long periods of standing and working in glove ports/half-suit of an isolator may be required.
  • Occasional lifting (less than 35 lbs.) and reaching may be required.
  • Extended time working at a computer
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.


Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel, or Environment Requirements
  • Holiday, weekend, and overtime hours may be required in order to meet business and/or customer needs; flexibility is required.
  • Overtime and weekend work will be required.


Work Location Assignment:On Premise

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
