Tenure-Track Faculty Positions - Basic and Translational Research at the Cancer Dormancy and Tumor Microenvironment Institute at Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center The Cancer Dormancy and Tumor Microenvironment Institute (CDTMI) at the Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center (MECC) and Basic Science Departments at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) invite applications from outstanding candidates with expertise in cancer-focused basic and translational research in areas such as cancer biology, metastasis mechanisms, cancer immunology, cancer therapeutics, cancer virology, stem cell biology, epigenetics including chromatin and RNA biology, signaling, computational and systems biology, microbiome and others. The CDTMI is the first Institute ever created to integrate an orthogonal approach to address the question of how residual cancer dormancy, aging, lifestyle-related perturbations of target organ immune and non-immune niches, epigenetics, genetics, and treatments influence relapse across all cancers. Thus, specific research focus on the biology of minimal residual disease, cancer dormancy, target organ-specific niches, senescence, persisters, and microenvironmental perturbations associated with cancer progression such as aging, inflammation, fibrosis and metabolic alterations among others will be viewed as a competitive strength.   The MECC is an NCI-designated cancer center and is one of the oldest and most established NCI cancer centers in the U.S. having been granted NCI designated status in 1972. Einstein possesses an outstanding research faculty and enjoys an exceptionally collegial and collaborative environment. AECC has established strong ties to other basic science departments and institutes at Einstein, and growing collaborations with clinical departments at Montefiore Medical Center. The CDTMI will also collaborate with other Institutes and Centers of Excellence at Einstein as well as patient advocate groups to leverage technological advancements, scientific knowledge across disciplines not immediately obvious to the problem of cancer dormancy and relapse as well as patient experience to foster a multidisciplinary and innovative Institute with a transformative impact. Additional information on the CDTMI can be found in the following link: https://cancer.montefioreeinstein.org/research/cdtmi   Candidates with cancer dormancy-focused basic and translational research interests will be considered for tenure-track positions at all levels in the Basic Science Departments but also have joint affiliations in Clinical Departments and will be part of the CDTMI and MECC. Einstein seeks candidates whose skills and personal and professional experience, have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence in research, and to the communities we serve. Highly competitive start-up packages are available with potential opportunities for joint appointments in clinical departments. The salary range for this role is: $140,000 - $160,000.      Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree, with a track record of research excellence. Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain a vibrant research program supportable by extramural funding. Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a summary of research accomplishments and goals (maximum five pages) and an inclusion, diversity and equity statement for their program in a single PDF document to nuri.panjaton@einsteinmed.edu. Applicants should also arrange to have three letters of reference sent directly to this email address. Review of applications will continue on a rolling basis.   The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran or disabled status, or genetic information. Einstein seeks candidates whose skills, and personal and professional experience, have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence, and the communities we serve. https://www.click2apply.net/yy6WOkuwLdBqAtrN4U6NBp PI218322203
