Dr. Yue Yang's laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology at Weill Cornell Medicine is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join as a Postdoctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will contribute to NIH-funded research projects focused on investigating the impact of NAD+ metabolism on aging and metabolic diseases. The primary responsibilities of the postdoctoral fellow will involve conducting and managing experiments involving mice and mammalian cells. Candidates with expertise in animal physiology related to aging or metabolic diseases will be given strong consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently conduct and troubleshoot experiments related to NAD+ metabolism, aging, and metabolic diseases using mouse models and mammalian cell cultures. Manage experimental procedures, including animal handling, in vivo studies, and post-study data analysis. Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts and grant proposals. Stay updated with relevant scientific literature and attend conferences or seminars to foster professional development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline. Demonstrated scientific accomplishment through peer-reviewed publications. Ability to independently design and conduct experiments, troubleshoot technical challenges, and adapt protocols as needed. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary research team. Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively present research findings and contribute to scientific discussions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in aging and/or metabolic disease studies. Minimum of two years' hands-on experience with in vivo mouse models, including animal handling and minor surgical procedures (e.g. primary cell isolations). Proficiency in protein biochemistry, ELISA, molecular biology techniques, and mammalian cell culture. Strong background in animal physiology and molecular biology, as evidenced by first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
