Position Summary:

The Project Coordinator provides support to the Director for the development & coordination of all Program activities. Compiles and analyses complex information for inclusion in training, reports or presentation materials to support program metrics. Collaborates with medical, research, administrative, support, and nursing personnel within the Cancer Center, across the Enterprise and among diverse, multiethnic and multisectoral community partners to facilitate program activities.

The Project Coordinator will work with Dr. Kimlin Ashing . Kimlin Tam Ashing, Ph.D., is a professor and founding director of the Center of Community Alliance for Research & Education (CCARE) at City of Hope. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder. As an advocate-scientist, she is advancing population health science and practice. She is a population, behavioral scientist working to develop and implement evidenced-based, culturally, clinically and community responsive health improvement interventions. Her mission is to engage advocates and civil society in science to speed up and ensure the public benefit of biomedical research and advancements.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Supports the Director and programs with administrative aspects of our cancer screening program including maintaining program's tracking databases.
• Assist Director with the organization, development, implementation and evaluation of new and existing programs, activities and strategies.
• Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategy plan including all marketing and educational materials e.g., electronic and website content and layout to promote programs to meet metrics including addressing societal determinants of health, cancer burden and disparities.
• Provides director with administrative support for research being conducted under the program to include development of recruitment strategies, participant, public and community engagement, supporting the development of a monitoring and evaluation infrastructure for the prostate cancer screening program.
• Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements).
• Must have at least 2 years of related program/project coordination experience.
• Has a high level of comfort in working in team environments to drive toward delivery of processes or activity execution. Welcomes, values and practices diversity, equity and inclusion within all communications (i.e., oral and written) and activities.
• Is an expert collaborator, reaching out to colleagues and interacting positively and effectively with internal and external contacts.
• Has project-management and technological skills in organizing strategies, objectives, tactics and creating metrics to measure outcomes.

• Presents a customer-service orientation in providing support to individual and team objectives.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to connect various pieces of information to develop a holistic viewpoint.
• Demonstrates emotional intelligence to navigate different communications styles and behaviors.

Preferred education experience and skills:

• An advanced degree in related field including Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, and Public Health.
• Experience in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Disparities, Social Determinants of Health, Human Biology, Statistics, Qualitative and Quantitative Methods, Research Design, Ethics.
• CHES or CTTS licensure.

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate's experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
