We seek postdoctoral fellows to join the Kebschull Lab at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. These NIH-and foundation-funded positions are flexible in scope but centered on the development and application of new viral and sequencing-based neuroanatomical tools to map-single cell or multi-synaptic connectivity in mice and other model systems (NHPs, songbirds, reptiles, amphibians).

The mission of the Kebschull Lab is to understand the structure of the vertebrate brain, how it evolves, and how it is disrupted in neurological diseases. To achieve this, we develop advanced spatial transcriptomics and next-generation sequencing-based connectomics methods to explore the fundamental questions in vertebrate brain organization and the multi-omic changes to brain circuits resulting from drug use and neurodegeneration. Recent methods include MAPseq, BRICseq, and BARseq, and relevant papers include Kebschull et al. 2020 Science, Huang et al. 2020 Cell, Han et al. 2018 Nature, and Kebschull et al. 2016 Neuron.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) and have relevant experience in neuroscience, molecular biology, omics, or related fields. Strong molecular biology and bioinformatics skills are required, and a passion for developing new tools and understanding brain circuits is essential.
