The Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva invites applications a faculty position in renal physiology and/or pathophysiology. The appointment will be at Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)‐funded assistant professor level, with a possibility for tenure following the term. The appointment is linked to obtaining an SNSF (or equivalent) starting grant. 

 

We are seeking for young promising scientists who would like to develop an independent line of  research. The candidates should have a strong  research background in  renal physiology and/or pathophysiology.

 

Candidates will be gradually involved in teaching at undergraduate and graduate level, and good understanding of renal physiology and pathophysiology of acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease will be positively valued.

The Department will provide strong support and mentoring, and the successful candidates can reach out and benefit from the multidisciplinary environment of our Faculty’s Section of Fundamental Medicine (Departments of Immunology and Pathology, Genetic Medicine and Development, Microbiology and Molecular Medicine, and Neuroscience), as well as of the immediate proximity to the Geneva University Hospitals.

 

Applicants need to hold PhD or MD and have excellent scientific track record.
