Post-Doctoral Position in Cancer Drug Discovery/ Medicinal Chemistry University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy

A multiyear position is available at the USC Columbia College of Pharmacy. The ideal candidate would possess a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry and be able to perform diverse organic chemical syntheses involving multiple steps and be familiar with modern purification and characterization methods. The position will involve the application of synthetic organic chemistry and structure-guided design methods towards the discovery and rational design of targeted anti-cancer therapeutics. The opportunity exists to undertake synthetic chemistry projects in a multi-disciplinary environment and gain exposure to computational modeling, drug design and the principles of medicinal chemistry. The successful candidate will have good communication skills and be able to work well in a team environment.
