Senior Lecturer (MER1) in vascular function related to exercise

at the Institute of Sport Sciences (ISSUL-FBM)

The ISSUL is UNIL's main center for teaching and research in the interdisciplinary field of sport sciences. It brings together experts in human and social sciences (history, psychology, management, sociology) and life sciences (physiology, biomechanics, medicine, molecular biology) in the Olympic capital. It offers bachelor's and master's degrees, with five orientations (teaching, adapted physical activities and health, social sciences, training and performance, sport and leisure management) and a doctorate. The exceptional environment for the practice of sports, with quality facilities in sports halls and fields, the proximity of Lake Geneva and the Alps, associated with the best experts in each sport, allows us to offer excellent practical training. The quality of the teaching is also ensured by the dynamism of the research on sociology, psychology, management of sport, leisure and territories and the history of sport as well as on physiology, sport medicine, biomechanics of physical exercise and motor control.

Main missions:

• Participate in the educational and knowledge transmission mission of ISSUL and UNIL and also supervise/guide master and doctoral students (see job description) Carry out fundamental, original research in the field of exercise and vessels, in particular in the field of PAD (Peripheral Artey Disease), financed by external funds Participate in Faculty/Institute activities/development Ensure the development of ISSUL-FBM's influence

Required profile:

• PhD in life sciences and/or sport sciences Post-doctorate in the field of life and/or sport sciences, or equivalent Training to conduct animal experiments (module 2 RESAL) or equivalent training Excellent scientific knowledge in the basic field of vascular and vessel biology in relation to exercise and physiology Several years of university teaching experience with proven didactic and pedagogical skills Experience in team leadership and project management in a comparable entity Strong understanding of the needs and demands of scientists and the functioning of an academic institution Excellent knowledge of English and French Very good communication skills with a variety of people in diverse circumstances, demonstrated ability to organize and motivate a group.
