Summary

Radiology is seeking an experienced computational scientist to participate in multiple biomedical projects in the Translational Imaging Group. The Translational Imaging Group is matrix-managed, and consists of 5 PIs who are all extramurally funded. The group currently holds 4 NIH grants and several Foundation and Industrial grants. The Postdoctoral Associate will primarily work on projects for one or more of the PIs, be expected to provide research updates at weekly group meetings and project meetings, and be expected to contribute to the writing of manuscripts and grants as a co-author or contributor as appropriate. The position will be funded for one year initially, with continuation based on performance and availability of funds.

Job Duties

  • Develops AI algorithms for the classification of images and biomedical data.
  • Performs pre-clinical and clinical data analysis in support of algorithm development.
  • Performs validation and testing of algorithms against real world data.
  • Provides data summaries, figures, and documents parts as directed by PIs and project leaders to assist in the writing of manuscripts and grant applications.
  • Reviews manuscripts critically prior to submission as part of authorship requirements.


Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in one of the computational sciences (mathematics, computer science, bioengineering, or related fields).
  • Developing computational algorithms for AI/ML (2 years).
  • Clinical data handling experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Biomedical project experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience collaborating with other scientists (2 years).
  • Analytical thinking skills.
  • Project formulation and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills for communicating research findings in reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
