The Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (CB2) at the Houston Methodist Hospital Research Institute has an opening for an independent faculty member, at the Assistant Professor rank, within a thriving scientific community with many potential collaborators. Successful candidates will have a track record of productivity in bioinformatics and computational biology with high impact publications, and evidence of success in obtaining funding independently or in collaboration with other investigators. Areas of interest include but may not be limited to genomics, RNA biology, epigenomics, metagenomics, database, medical informatics, and biostatistics. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience and expertise that is complementary to ongoing programmatic efforts in the CB2. Experience and research interests in RNA biology are a plus. The startup package will be competitive and commensurate with the specific needs of the investigator. Faculty will also have the opportunity to affiliate with the Cornell University Weill Cornell Medical College and/or Texas A&M University, and to work with students from these universities.
