Summary

We are seeking a candidate who is enthusiastic, highly self-motivated, highly responsible, dedicated to science and problem solving, with excellent organizational skills and effective at working independently, while also collaborating and assisting the team in its collective research goals. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects is expected. He or she will be involved in various aspects of genetically engineered mouse model production and genotyping, and will work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

The position requires a highly self-motivated individual, with outstanding organizational skills, the ability to effectively present results and conclusions to co-workers, collaborators and manager. Ability to work well under pressure and drive personal and team objectives

Job Duties

  • Conducts PDX based drug development experiments in a controlled laboratory setting.
  • Conducts mouse experiments (breeding, genotyping, irradiation, weighing and evaluating, imaging, administering medications).
  • Designs and conducts research experiments.
  • Maintains animal husbandry.
  • Performs daily work involving the handling of genetically engineered animal models, animals with immuno-compromised health status, and animals recovering from surgical procedures, etc.
  • Performs routine euthanasia on laboratory animals and routine surgeries such as subcutaneous injection and/or transplant of cell pellet and tumor sections.
  • Performs oral gavage, injection of medication (subcutaneously, intravenously, or intraperitoneally).
  • Harvesting animal tissue, organs, and collecting blood.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents and interprets results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
  • Develops and modify computer programs.
  • Selects and determines appropriate research procedures.
  • Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
  • Assigns activities to less experienced research staff.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Animal handling experience.
  • Comfortable with Euthanasia
