The Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Research Administration who enjoys working as part of a team, is organized, responsible, and highly motivated. The department is home to a productive faculty and staff dedicated to conducting internationally recognized biomedical research and educating the next generation of scientists. The Senior Coordinator, Research Administration will be responsible for working with faculty, staff and trainees in an exciting and growing academic department. The successful candidate will report to the department administrator and will work closely with faculty, colleagues and department leadership to assure responsible compliant grant submission and management.

This position has the potential to be hybrid.

Job Duties

  • Assemble, complete and submit grant applications and progress reports to federal, state, and private sponsors.
  • Enter the required proposal data into Baylor's electronic grant tracking system (BRAIN) and ensure the on-time submission of the applications by the deadlines.
  • Monitor researchers' compliance training to avoid lapses.
  • Document required approvals for grant submission for department team members.
  • Maintain records for each grant or account, including applications, revenue checks, communication with sponsor, etc.
  • Request vendor numbers for suppliers, obtain Purchase Order numbers for the contract/subcontract, and review incoming contract/subcontract invoices for accuracy prior to payment.
  • Prepare and maintain faculty bios other support documents for faculty as needed.
  • Schedule and organize appointments, meetings, conferences, or other special events for faculty.
  • Participate in a job relevant Baylor Community of Practice.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Requires excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) preferred.
