ROLE SUMMARY

The Global Medical Director Xeljanz Rheumatology will report to the Vice President, Xeljanz Medical Lead. The Director will join and become an integral part of the Global Medical Xeljanz team, a dynamic international team of colleagues who are driven by a passion to address the unmet need of patients. The director will serve as an expert in the Xeljanz data and as a disease area subject matter expert. The director will lead the execution of evidence and insight generation as well as subsequent interpretation, publication, and dissemination activities for the safe and effective use of Xeljanz. The Global Medical Director Xeljanz Rheumatology will lead with integrity and be a role model for medical professionalism and scientific excellence.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Global Medical Director Xeljanz Rheumatology will partner cross-functionally with medical teams, health and value functions, clinical development, legal, compliance and commercial teams to execute activities supporting Xeljanz. The Global Medical Director Xeljanz Rheumatology will collaborate directly with country medical teams to understand major unmet medical needs and medical environment including HCP and patient perspective, regulatory and access dynamics at the country level and integrate needs and insights to co-create a global medical plan.
  • Demonstrate deep data and disease area expertise for Xeljanz and rheumatology, respectively
  • Support or lead evidence generation, data interpretation, and data dissemination, communication and publication activities informed by medical and scientific community information and education needs


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop, and coach others, oversee, and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • MD or DO with minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry or another medical research organization
  • Board certification or extensive Rheumatology experience, especially clinical / patient care experience, is preferred
  • Subject matter expertise and experience in rheumatology is required
  • Robust research experience and scientific acumen is required
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required

  • Experience in Medical Affairs
  • Clinical trial experience a plus
  • Launch experience a plus
  • Above-country experience preferred and international experience a plus
  • Regulatory and/or clinical development experience a plus
  • Proven track record of ability to work successfully with cross-functional colleagues in a matrix team setting across countries and internationally with diverse colleagues
  • Strong communications and relationship building capacity and ability to listen, understand and integrate country and local needs

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $207,200.00 to $345,400.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
