The Immunopharmacology group within the Pfizer Inflammation and Immunology Research Unit is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to work on the development of the next generation of therapeutics for autoimmune and fibrotic indications such as rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.

What You Will Achieve

How You Will Achieve It
- Execution and optimization of cell-based functional and biochemical assays to support project teams such as gene expression analyses, protein quantification (e.g. Western blot, flow cytometry, MSD/ELISA), and primary cell culture
- Regularly record experimental work upon completion in electronic notebook systems
- Analyze, organize, and present results in small and large group meetings
- Read relevant scientific literature to aid in experimental design
- Contribute to a dynamic, exciting culture that embraces teamwork and innovation
Qualifications
Must-Have
- B.S. degree with 3+ years' experience or M.S. degree with 0-3+ years' experience
- Experience in the fields of immunology and/or cell biology
- Ability to plan and execute in vitro experiments with minimal supervision
- Knowledgein standard immunologic techniques
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and as a part of a team
- Motivation, drive, and mental agility that translates into being a willing learner
- Good verbal and written communication
Nice-to-Have
- Technical expertise with immune cell-based functional assays (e.g. activation, differentiation, proliferation, and suppression assays by using monocyte/ macrophages, T cells, B cells, or dendritic cells)
- Experience with Flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, and ELISA/MSD
- Experience with human PBMCs and mammalian cell culture
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform lab-based work, which involves sitting, standing, and walking
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations as it pertains to experimental designs and data analysis
