The PMO (Project Management Office) Senior Manager in Sandoz Product Development is responsible for managing tasks in the global Project Management Office as a center of excellence for managing pipeline execution, project cost and iPM processes incl. data and digital tools. The role has a primary focus on pipeline and project budget related aspects (beyond the in-house pipeline also including financial obligations related to signed in-licensing deals), and an objective to ensure all projects are delivered following the established processes and within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality, and the deviations are escalated on time and the decision are made timely. The role also enables state-of-the-art infrastructure and offers expertise for successful project management and data analysis to measure business impact and improvements.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The PMO senior manager provides the framework for successful project execution and efficiency improvement. Thus overseeing the active project portfolio with its key elements including resource, capacity and budget needs, as well as progress monitoring and reporting. The PMO senior manager is key team member of the global PMO taking the following key accountabilities:

• Closely collaborates with Global Sandoz functions on evaluation, selection, allocation and execution of projects in order to facilitate timely project decisions and improve the efficiency in overall process.
• Tracks and reports all active (SDC and BD&L) projects from time, cost and scope point of view, from allocation to launch.
• Manages the preparation, compilation and reporting of timelines, project budgets, capacity plans and priorities for all active projects; scrutinizes project schedules and cost with the individual project managers; ensures management of timelines through critical analysis.
• Effectively utilizes project management systems, database and tools in alignment with global strategies and covers all iPM teams (development, launch and BD&L).
• Drives continuous improvements by providing forward looking data analysis and reports which allow relevant functions to monitor and improve their performance (incl. competitive intelligence and benchmarking as requested).
• Works in an unbossed environment, and develops and cultivates relationships with local and global teams, as well as all interfaces within the organization linked to iPM (incl. Portfolio, Manufacturing, Supply, Commercial etc.).

Minimum Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:

• University Masters education (or equivalent) in business administration with pharmacy, medicine or natural/life science background in Bachelor education with 15+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry (preferably generic) in project management or related areas (e.g. portfolio management, product development, in-licensing) with exposure to project management.
• Certification in project management or accounting is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of generic pipeline, project cost estimation, timelines, budgeting process, constraints, opportunities and risks
• Competitive intelligence and ability to use and interpret databases and public domain information
• Report creation skills using the IT tools
• Ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organization
• Strategic thinking
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent team playing skills
