Job Description

Every year, ~3,500 children are diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and ~25,000 adults are diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. 10% of these children, and 50% of these adults who do not respond to upfront therapies are faced with limited treatment options and low survival rates. Over the past few years, Cell & Gene therapies for these diseases have come to market, bringing new hope to patients, caregivers and HCP’s alike. There is still a large unmet need, and at Novartis we are reimagining medicine to continue to bring this innovative therapy to not only these patients, but those with other B-cell malignancies as well.

The Director, Regional Cell Therapy Operations is accountable for the staff and on-boarding qualification and continued operations of a regional network of apheresis, cell processing, and treatment centers to ensure ability to supply high quality cellular material intended for use as a critical starting material for product manufacturing and to ensure ability to treat patients with Novartis Cell Therapy portfolio products in both the commercial and clinical trial setting. This key role will drive the regional operations strategy, manage a regional Cell Therapy Operations team, and partner directly with cross-functional Global Operations roles as well as regional and country Novartis Commercial and Medical organizations.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to being responsible to:
• Ensure that Cell Therapy Operations Staff are qualified and trained to support their regional sites as assigned.
• Ensure that sites acting as cellular material suppliers are fully supported from a technical and relationship management perspective, supporting continuous operations improvements.
• Ensure that the hospital key staff, including HCPs, transplant/CAR-T coordinators, pharmacy, infusion nurses, study nurses as well as apheresis unit and cell laboratory staff are qualified for the collection, processing, receipt, and handling of the Novartis Cell Therapy portfolio products.

Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
