The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, College of Physicians and Surgeons, seeks a Staff Associate I to investigate the signaling mechanisms of acute kidney injury.


Experiments involve genetically modified mice and cell culture models using pharmacologic pathway inhibitors of signal transduction. Proficiency in cell culture, immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, confocal microscopy, and immunoblotting techniques are required.

 

Ability to work with minimal guidance is expected and essential. The desired candidate must be able to develop and learn new techniques as required for these studies as well as teach techniques to other members of the laboratory.

 

This position level requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and an additional 4 years of related research experience beyond the degree.

 

Hiring Salary Range: $57,000–$65,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
