Position Available— Principal Investigator in Cell Biology

The Department of Cell Biology at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav), in Mexico, is launching a call for a scientist to occupy a position as an independent researcher in Cell Biology with the emphasis, but not limited to, working in the fields of immunology, virology and bioinformatics. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and should have completed at least 3 years of postdoctoral training (preferentially at a foreign institution). They should have records of creativity, productivity, and demonstrated potential for future achievements. They will be expected to develop productive and innovative research, ability to obtain local and external funding, and participate actively in our academic programs and postgraduate training.

In support of his/her establishment as a researcher, the selected candidate will have access to our departmental equipment facility and Institutional resources, including flow cytometry, advanced imaging, genomics, sequencing, electron microscopy, mass spectrometry services, and others. Candidates will be considered for associate or full professor positions according to their qualifications. We offer a competitive salary and an opportunity to apply for a National Government fellowship, as an additional benefit.

Applicants should submit a full curriculum vitae, a summary of current and proposed research, reprints of five key publications, and three letters of recommendation. Selected candidates will be interviewed and present a seminar based on their current and proposed research.
