The University of California, Irvine (UCI) Department of Biological Chemistry together with the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC) in the School of Medicine invite applications for a full time, tenured position at the level of ASSOCIATE or FULL PROFESSOR.

We seek outstanding candidates with a research focus on molecular mechanisms that can lead to therapeutic advances in genitourinary cancers, including cancers of the kidney, bladder, prostate, and/or testis. The successful candidate will hold the Kure It Cancer Research Endowed Chair in Genitourinary Oncology Research and will co-lead the Genitourinary Disease-Oriented Team within the CFCCC, a multidisciplinary group charged with advancing discoveries towards the clinic and fostering investigator-initiated clinical trials.

The Department of Biological Chemistry (BC) is highly interdisciplinary, with particular strengths in cancer, epigenetics, metabolism, circadian biology, and bioinformatics. Faculty of BC benefit from participation in the CFCCC, the cancer center-affiliated Cancer Research Institute (CRI), and the Center for Epigenetics & Metabolism. The CFCCC is one of 51 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute and has a major mission to alleviate the burden of cancer in its catchment area of Orange County.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, and have a track record of leading a vigorous extramurally funded research program.
