ROLE SUMMARY
  • Provide support for COVID-19 vaccine and other mRNA vaccines on behalf of US Medical Affairs Team
  • As an integrated member of the Brand Team, ensure that medical plans are communicated and integrated into strategy
  • Collaborate with Brand partners, most directly with Commercial COVID-19 Consumer and HCP Leads in providing expert input, product support and ensure consistence of approach and deliverables.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop strategies to support Regional Medical Asset needs.
  • Create and deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the designated therapeutic area focusing on those stakeholders and customers involved in vaccine decision making and implementation
  • Work within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team to foster strong Pfizer/customer professional relationships which are aligned with Pfizer Medical objectives
  • Partner with Public and Corporate Affairs to expand Vaccines Medical footprint with large external stakeholders, e.g. Association of Immunization Managers, Professional Societies
  • Brand Plan Development: Provide medical input into global brand strategies and tactics ensuring regional medical needs are met.
  • Customer Insight Planning: Develop, plan, and implement Customer Insight Plans including:
    • Advisory Boards to gather expert guidance to advise medical planning. Provide regional input into global Advisory Board planning, support implementation and presentations (as needed).
    • Brand Expert Panels seeking guidance on product positioning and related issues.
    • Partner cross-functionally within medical to ensure aligned KOLs activities to gather feedback and input into strategy development and execution.
  • Promotional Materials Development & Review: Provide medical leadership for concept development and review of promotional materials and sales training materials. Partner with legal and regulatory colleagues to ensure compliant and accurate content.
  • Fellowships/Sponsorships: Provide medical guidance and recommendations for Fellowships/Sponsorships.
  • Medical Education Grants: Provide medical review for MEGs.
  • Sales Training: Support POAs and sales training needs
  • Publication Subcommittee (PSC) Membership: Collaborate with Clinical Development and Clinical Affairs global colleagues on key governance committee to support development of a strategic global and regional publication plans, participate in data analysis efforts, and lead or participate in manuscript, abstract, and poster development.
  • Regulatory Support: Provide regional medical support for label updates and responses to regulatory requests.
  • Safety Support: Provide regional medical support, analysis, guidance for safety updates, issues pertaining to regional business.
  • Partner with Field Based Medical to ensure development of operational plans, provide product insight and education, and partner in external interactions.
  • Medical Information (MI) Partnership: Partner with MI colleagues to provide expert input into Medical Letters and ensure updates as needed.
  • Outcomes Research Partnerships: Partner with Outcomes Research and Institutional OR Scientists to develop strategies and design research to support regional business.
  • Customer Facing Partnerships: Partner with expert thought leaders and societies to support regional Medical business goals, including manuscript generation, research partnerships, fellowships, expert guidance, and competitive insight. Provide medical support for regional/country medical congresses.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a health science required
  • PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree
  • Relevant experience required: 10 - 14 years with bachelor's degree; 8-12 years with MBA/MS; 7 or more years with terminal degree
  • Experience in vaccines, infectious diseases, epidemiology, and public health
  • Clinical, formulary, and/or other management experience
  • Managed Care, pharmaceutical industry, and/or Quality Improvement
  • Data Analytics and/or HEOR activities, with demonstrated strong methodological skills (study design, data analysis, and interpretation) in health services research
  • Demonstrate a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers and create business impact
  • Demonstrated track record of high performance and excellence.
  • Ability to analyze, define, and convey complex concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Well-organized with the ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, and effectively lead in a matrix organization.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience analyzing healthcare data
  • Understanding of the complex business environment within the US healthcare system as well as emerging healthcare trends.


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Up to 20% travel.
