The Department of Neurosurgery in the School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is looking to recruit a researcher to fill an open Instructor position working in the lab of Dr. James Markert. The candidate should hold a Ph.D., MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degrees and a track record of productivity in research, including grant awards and publications, commensurate with their rank.

The position is open for broadly based research interests in the field of Neuro-oncology, including but not limited to both primary and metastatic adult brain tumors, genomics, proteomics/kinomics or epigenetics at the single cell level, immunobiology of host-tumor interactions and relevant patient-derived models of cancer. The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is an outstanding tertiary care institution with a vibrant Neuro-oncology Program within the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. The successful applicant will work in partnership with the UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center Neuro-oncology Program.
