Job Details

The function of the Senior Research Data Coordinator is to assist with implementation of evidence-based physical activity, nutrition, weight management research studies through the Center for Energy Balance in Cancer Prevention Research and Survivorship.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Research Coordination:

Participate with study team to primarily implement a Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) funded liver study in collaboration with HOPE Clinic to screen and treat Houstonians who have risk factors for early liver disease; Communicate study objectives and procedures to prospective and enrolled study participants, schedule participants, and administer informed consent, when designated; Assist with research data collection (e.g., Redcap) and delivery of intervention including health coaching using Motivational Interviewing techniques; Facilitate research/prevention collaborations between MD Anderson researchers and community partners including organizations serving minoritized and marginalized populations; Support development and implementation of recruitment and retention for other research and prevention efforts; Support the development of study design, research protocols, and academic products; Assist, prepare, track, and submit mandated progress reports, coordinate compliance issues, and support preparation, coordination, and submission of grants.

Protocol Procedures:

Follow study protocol procedures, providing input as appropriate for changes, updates and revisions to survey instruments and data collection procedures; Identify and report needed protocol and procedural changes, coordinating the ongoing implementation of the research protocol, and defining recruitment and retention strategies; Assists in the development of research protocols, implementation of questionnaires, and screening assessments. Maintain necessary documentation associated with research participation. Ensure all program evaluation, data collection, and study data are collected with integrity following protocol.

Research Support:

Assist with preparation of academic works, presentations, and other project-related materials; Assists study team with research documentation of materials and quality control procedures. Assists with meeting preparation and intervention material preparation. Provides program updates and reports directly to the PI, Program Manager, and Program Coordinator(s) as requested.

EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Four years of related experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.

Preferred: Bilingual (reading, writing & speaking) in Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), Arabic, Vietnamese or any other language.
