Postdoc (f/m/x) Humanized Mice for Immuno-Oncology
Institute for Translational Immune-Oncology
full-time; initially limited until December 31, 2024 as part of a third-party funded project
Our Institute for Translational Immune-Oncology (Director Prof. Renata Stripecke) is part of the Clinic I for Internal Medicine (Director Prof. Michael Hallek). Our mission is to develop innovative immune therapies against cancer. The candidate will be trained to develop predictive mouse models using human hematopoietic stem cells, cancer cells and lentiviral vectors. The Institute will foster interactions with national and international academic and biotech networks. We will strive for publications, funding acquisition and your career development in immune-oncology.
Your tasks
We are looking for a motivated scientist to work on humanized mice models:
Optimize the methods for humanization and cancer engraftment in mice Use state-of-the-art methods to study human T and B cells in these models Supervise PhD, master and medical students Prepare reports, manuscripts, grants and presentations for conferences
Your Profile
You completed Veterinary, Pharmacology or PhD studies in the bio-medical field Experience in handling mice (FELASA B certification or equivalent), can perform anesthesia, s.c and i.v. cell transfer, small surgeries, immunizations, collection of tissues and preparation for histology analyses Prior research experience in immunology (multicolor FACS, ELISA and cytotoxic assays) and/or oncology (in vivo tumor models) Experience in design and production of lentiviral vectors is a plus Competence in using hardware and software tools for text generation, data analyses and documentation (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Graphpad, flowjo etc.) We expect writing proficiency for formulation of experimental and animal study protocols, preparation of publication-quality figures, text and statistical analyses (t-test and ANOVA) Team player, ability to organize, prioritize, solve problems reliably and efficiently

The full-time position is initially for 24 months. The salary is commensurate with training, professional qualifications and experience in accordance with the German public service TV-L ranking.
