Assistant Professor Microbiology & Immunology

The Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center invites applications for a faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. Requirements for the position include a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, productive postdoctoral training, and the ability to establish and maintain a nationally funded research program. Applicants will also be expected to teach graduate and medical students within their scope-of-expertise. Preferred areas of research include those that fit within or expand upon the Department’s activity in the areas of microbial pathogenesis (bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic), host-microbe interactions, and immune pathogenesis.

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary and startup package, as well as an opportunity to serve as a project leader in the NIH-supported Oklahoma Center for Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunity led by the Department. Additional Departmental and institutional resources include AAALAC-accredited animal facilities, BSL3 laboratory space, and state-of-the-art core facilities that support genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, flow cytometry, metabolomics, imaging and microscopy.
