SUMMARY

To perform data collection and outcome reporting for clinical research protocols

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

1. Design, Maintain and Manage databases for research studies
a. Generate relational diagrams for a variety of research studies.
b. Design, Develop and implement effective data collection instruments including the use of coding (not limited to: VBA, SQL, HTML, MySQL, Python, JASON) for each study.
c. Modify, Update, and Test new and/or existing dataset instruments for each study for efficiency and performance.
d. Develop and maintain procedures for data collection specific for each study.
e. Prepare and administer cleaning of large datasets for accuracy and consistency for large volumes of cross sectional and longitudinal data. Includes unionizing, joining and/or merging from a variety of sources and formats.
f. Prepares complex reports for each study for review and analysis.
g. Provide technical assistance as needed.

2. Clinical data and research data consistency
a. Resolve problems with consistencies.
b. Correspond with trial monitors, nurses, research staff and primary investigators.
c. Obtain outside correspondence from other sites, discusses and implements query resolutions with monitors.
d. Provide suggestions on adapting alternative methodologies in an effort to improve clinical data collection and management.

3. Data integrity, collection and analysis
a. Checks patient data to ensure all actions taken followed the assigned protocol.
b. Ensures that all external documentation has been processed, edited, and filed.
c. Establishes guidelines for obtaining and organizing clinical trial data within given deadlines of collection efforts.
d. Prepares specific reports and analysis to aid in decisions.
e. Prepares research proposals, manuscripts, abstracts and reports.
f. Performs interim analyses, continuing reviews and detailed analyses with descriptive statistics.
g. Provide support to data team members in managing security mechanisms and data access governance

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology, healthcare, MIS, Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Education: Master's Level Degree

Experience: Five years of related experience. With preferred degree, three years of related experience required.

Preferred Experience: Clinical research, developing databases using REDCap, MS Access, MS SharePoint, and coding in VBA, SQL.
