We are looking for a PDF to help isolate and identify metabolites produced by intestinal microbes that bind and modulate nuclear receptor proteins. Our pipeline consists of all 48 human nuclear receptors and a variety of gut and microbial extract preparations. Identified interactions will be tested for roles in host metabolism, inflammatory and other disorders. Our approach is described in: Liu et al, 2022, Science Signaling; 15 (741), eabo1857. Individuals with experience in proteomics and small molecule chemistry will be particularly well qualified.
