The Nutrition Research Institute (NRI) and the Department of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are jointly seeking applications for up to 4 tenure track faculty members with research expertise in nutrition and precision health. We welcome candidates who incorporate multi-omic and other integrative approaches to address critical nutrition-related health issues (with emphasis on cancer, cardiometabolic diseases, and brain health), and gain new insights into interactions between diet, other lifestyle factors, and individual characteristics that influence human health. The position is located at the UNC Chapel Hill NRI, which is part of the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, NC (2 hours west of Chapel Hill, near Charlotte).
These are tenure track or tenured appointments at the assistant, associate, or full professor level depending upon experience, research and scholarly accomplishments. Applicants must have a track record of competitive grant funding from the NIH (or equivalent) and relevant peer-reviewed publications in high quality journals. Ideal candidates will have postdoctoral and/or faculty-level experience and a track record that supports the potential to establish a visible, impactful, and extramurally funded research program. The Nutrition Research Institute will provide an annual commitment of hard money as well as start-up funding.
