The Global Discovery Chemistry Analytical team is seeking a highly motivated Principal Scientist to help drive innovation in targeted siRNA delivery. As one of the local scientific leaders in siRNA, you will be working closely with a global team of experts to advance our therapeutics and to drive our understanding of selective delivery of siRNA.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
• Characterization of oligos and siRNA using appropriate analytical techniques
• Evaluate oligonucleotide PK and metabolism in cells, tissues, and biofluids, using standard oligonucleotide analytical methods (Stem-loop RT-qPCR, PNA fluorescence hybridization, or LC-MS)
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot SOPs for bioanalytical assays
• Identify and drive the identification of solutions to innovate the field of siRNA therapeutics
• Learning agility towards new concepts and ability to incorporate and exploit ideas across different teams
• Summarize and present results to team members
• Apply automation or collaborate with automation experts to improve efficiency

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• PhD in Analytical, Organic Chemistry, or Biochemistry with 4 years of work experience in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical organization
• Good understanding of RNA biology and RNA therapeutics
• Broad experience in analytical techniques for oligonucleotides (ASOs and siRNAs), various oligonucleotides conjugates, including, but not limited to, HPLC-UV/Fluorescence/MS and gel/capillary electrophoresis
• Skilled with bioanalytical techniques, including stem-loop RT-PCR and hybridization assays, for siRNA quantification in biofluids and tissues
• Experience measuring gene expression by qPCR
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and a team-player mindset
• Demonstrated ability in taking initiative and driving projects
• Experience with automated liquid handling/assay automation desirable
• Experience with protein quantification and biomarker analysis by ELISA, Gel Electrophoresis, Western Blotting/WES/JESS would be a plus

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $112, 000 to $169,000 /year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/22 through 12/31/22, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
