Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.

Description

The Center for Cystic Fibrosis and Airways Disease Research (CF-AIR), a joint entity within Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, invites applications for a tenure eligible position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.  Faculty appointment will be in the Division of Pulmonology, Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis and Sleep, in the Department of Pediatrics within the Emory University School of Medicine.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University have worked together since 1956, facilitating leading-edge pediatric research, training, and innovation. Together, our partnership advances research and facilitates evidence-based quality care for children. In 2020, the Emory Department of Pediatrics was the #1 ranked pediatric department in NIH research funding.  This job posting is part of our ambitious $200M investment to substantially grow our team of world class child health researchers over the next five years.

Faculty with research programs in the broad field of airway/mucosal immunology and inflammation related to asthma or other airway diseases¸ with a focus on computational research, are of particular interest.  The CF-AIR Center includes research foci in Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, and Food Allergy.  The faculty candidate will benefit from extraordinary resources made available through the Department and Center.

We seek candidates with an established track record of obtaining extramural funding and strong track record of research success, appropriate to their current career stage, with a clear trajectory toward independence within the next five years.  Ideal candidates will be collaborative scientists that bring new perspectives to the Department and Center, with a translational mindset. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program, and to participate in our strong graduate and medical student training programs through mentorship and teaching. The primary criteria for selection will be excellence and creativity in research and scholarship.

We offer a highly interactive and collegial research environment with state-of-the-art research facilities, as well as proximity to and collaborations with The Winship Cancer Institute, the Emory National Primate Research Center, The Emory Vaccine Center, Emory Transplant Center, the joint Biomedical Engineering Department at Emory and GA Tech, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Visit our websites noted above for more information on our faculty, department, and resources.
