Postdoctoral Research Fellow - The Lentzsch Laboratory

Position Summary

The Lentzsch Laboratory at the Columbia Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis Program is seeking a self-motivated, creative, and experienced postdoctoral research fellow who is interested in developing and applying cutting edge novel macrophage-based immunotherapy for AL amyloidosis. The incumbent will work on new and ongoing research projects as directed by the PI and collaborating PIs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biology or related field by the start of the appointment.
• Familiarity with common biological laboratory techniques especially human hematopoietic stem cell and macrophage culture, lentiviral transduction, flow cytometry, immunochemistry staining and animal studies. Especially, expertise or previous experiences in macrophage biology, humanized mice model and/or antibody development are preferred.
• Must be self-motivated, be detail oriented, and have exemplary work ethic.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently as well as part of a team, and work well under pressure.
• Proficiency with common software and data management files

Other Requirements

• The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made
• Participation in the medical surveillance program:
• work with laboratory animals
• potential bloodborne pathogen exposure
• work with known infectious agents or biological toxins where prophylactic vaccination is available
• Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements

Salary range: $60,000 – $75,000
