Qualified postdoctoral candidates are invited to join our laboratory, at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, Department of Translational Medicine and Physiology, Washington State University.
Research in our lab focuses on DNA damage responses, immune responses, and how these stress responses relate to aging and cancer development. We use C. elegans, mammalian cells, and mice as model systems. Our current work includes the following three areas: age-related alterations in neuroimmune regulation, roles of collagens in stress resistance and health, and age-dependent oncogenesis. The postdoctoral research associate is expected to plan and conduct experiments to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in neuroimmune regulation, aging, or oncogenesis. S/he is responsible for data collection, analysis, report, and manuscript preparation for publications.
Candidates with a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) and strong background in molecular biology, genetics, immunology, neurobiology, or biochemistry, or other related area of study are encouraged to apply. Prior research experience with C. elegans is preferred.
Washington State University is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Educator and Employer which provides a stimulating and collaborative environment for biomedical research. Our lab works closely with members of the WSU Spokane Genomics Core. Spokane and the surrounding area offer great living and outdoor opportunities.
