Summary

The translational nanomedicine research lab in the Department of Surgery at BCM is looking for a highly motivated postdoc. Our research program aims to rapidly advance functional biomaterials, drug delivery and bioengineering strategies through multidisciplinary approaches. A major focus of our research group is to develop technologies that can be translated to the clinic to improve the patients' quality of life.

Job Duties

  • Evaluates in vivo pharmacokinetics and therapeutic efficacy of the biomaterials, mico/nanoconstructs in animal models.
  • Assists other group members with animal surgeries and data analysis.
  • Maintains animal ordering, procurement, and animal colony management.
  • Participates in proposal writing and manuscript preparation.
  • Assists in the day to day lab management and organization.


Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or a similar discipline.
  • Experience in in vivo pharmacokinetics, developing mouse and rat models for injury and pain is required.
  • Under guidance from the principal investigator, in collaboration physicians and outside companies, and in cooperation with multiple laboratory members and students, the successful applicant will be responsible for driving one or multiple research projects with potential for individual professional growth. The successful applicant must be enthusiastic and willing to take on innovative experiments studying human and mouse tumor samples in relation to pro-neoplastic pathways that contribute to cancer promotion.
