The Medical Director, US Medical Affairs Policy Methodologist will lead the methodological reviews and analysis of all policy discussions pertinent to inline and pipeline vaccine assets that will be discussed by the CDC ACIP. The position reports to the US Medical Affairs Internal and External Policy Group Lead.

The position will focus primarily on: leading the policy strategies for the data generation plans for all vaccine assets, will help set policy strategies for the medical plans, tactical plans, and long term forecasting for all vaccine assets, and will do internal GRADEs and EtRs for all vaccines assets. Vaccine assets include but are not limited to Pneumococcal Next Generation Vaccines, Meningococcal vaccines, COVID vaccines, RSV vaccines, other mRNA platform vaccines, Lyme vaccine and other vaccines in the pipeline or acquired in the future.

  • Anticipate and predict policy questions, do internal GRADE analysis and EtRs for all vaccine assets
  • Develops data generation plans for all vaccine assets for incorporation into the GRADE and EtR
  • Will run Ad Boards where full GRADE, ETR and policy discussions are reviewed for inline and pipeline assets and any other policy related Ad Boards
  • Works with PHI teams on CE models and Preference studies for the ACIP and EtR
  • Works closely with the Policy Lead to ensures that US medical plans supporting obtaining and implementing ACIP policies for the asset are successfully developed and executed to achieve short- and long-term objectives.
  • Assists the Chairs of the cross-functional ACIP Medical Strategy Teams for all vaccine assets and supports that clear cross-functional goals are established, agreed to, and executed.
  • Supports the delivery of US Cross-functional ACIP Strategic Plans, Forecasts, and Business Development plans for US in-line assets and those in development.
  • Supports the US ACIP Strategic Medical Plans and tactical plans implementation.
  • Works closely with the Field Medical Team to provide policy analysis and presentations for use with external customers
  • Collaborates with the respective Brand Team Leaders in developing product policy strategy (ACIP, CMS, medical societies, others).
  • Is a key medical contributor to Business Development teams for the valuation of any new business opportunities and the assessment of possible ACIP policy scenarios using systematic evidence review and GRADE analyses techniques


Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Advanced degree, PhD, PharmD, Doctor of Nursing, or equivalent with at least 6 years of professional experience
  • Expertise in Vaccines with specific expertise in vaccine policy development, GRADE, Evidence to Recommendations Framework, the CDC ACIP, systematic reviews and evidence reviews. (REQUIRED)
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience not a requirement
  • Highly motivated with demonstrated track record of high performance and producing outstanding results.
  • Capable of comprehending and communicating in a clear, concise manner a large amount of scientific information.
  • Proven ability to facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders and build internal and external relationships through partnering, anticipating needs, fulfilling expectations.
  • Very strong strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in proactively identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Significant cross-functional teams experience.
  • Expertise in vaccines and immunization programs with an established KOL network.
  • Knowledgeable of the policy and environmental issues that drive immunization.
  • Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data to medical and non-medical audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills and strong interpersonal skills. Publications in internationally renowned medical peer-reviewed journals would be a distinctive advantage.
