The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) leads scientific engagement with the medical/scientific community by implementing and partnering on clinical and educational strategies. Develop collaborative relationships with medical experts (MEs) to pair needs with available resources. Inform medical strategies through robust insight-generation.

The territory for this role is Ohio and Indiana.
Candidates must live in the territory assigned. Relocation is not offered for this role.

What you will be doing:
-Lead scientific engagement with their Medical Experts. Implement clinical and educational
strategies and respond to unsolicited medical enquiries. Lead field medical activities in
collaboration with cross-functional teams and mentor other Field Medical associates.
Major Accountabilities
-Engage with Medical Experts (MEs) to educate on medical/scientific information
-Ensure appropriate identification/mapping of MEs/ Key Accounts including identification of
opportunities to involve MEs when a specific medical need is identified to provide support
-Develop/execute ME engagement plans to effectively prioritize and strategically engage MEs
aligned with country strategy
-Respond to unsolicited requests for information from MEs
-Proactively contribute to the development/execution of medical strategy/tactical plans,
including collecting, analyzing, and reporting impactful insights from MEs.
-Support Novartis clinical research programs, optimize trial execution and provide
scientific educational support to study sites in collaboration with clinical operations.
-Facilitate Investigator Initiated Trial (IIT) process upon investigator request
-Provide expert disease area/ product training, serve as a medical resource to field
colleagues, actively coach/mentor others
-Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to
Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt
-Distribution of marketing samples (where applicable)

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $174,400.00 and $261,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum Requirements

The territory for this role is Ohio / Indiana: candidates must live in the territory assigned.

What you will bring to the role:

Education: Terminal Degree

Experience: Experience as MSL preferred. Neuroscience experience highly preferred, but not required.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:
•Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products, Apple device operation, digital tools/platforms, and virtual customer engagement platforms is required.
•Leadership, Organizational, and Communication Skills:
•Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required.
•Must be able to seamlessly adapt communications to audience, easily transitioning topics and tools in line with customer needs/flow.
•Ability to identify, network and partner with medical experts, including thought leaders, large group practices, medical directors, and pharmacy directors is required.
•Must be science oriented and be able to prioritize work effectively and autonomously.
•Must have a track record of success through collaboration.
•Innovative mindset and ability to successfully navigate change and ambiguity are crucial.
•Must be driven more by the success of others/ team than personal success.
