Summary

Global Health is looking to hire a Research Coordinator II to coordinate day-to-day operations of IRB research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring research participants. The Research Coordinator II is expected to interview, screen and recruit patients, collect patient information, and work in a team. The ideal candidate will be organized, have the ability to multitask and work in a fast pace environment.

Job Duties

  • Coordinates multi-site domestic and international clinical trials and may require potential travel to study sites to assist with study start up, site visits, and study close out
  • Consents patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
  • Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database.
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies.
  • Retrieves and submits test results to PI for review.
  • Corresponds with patient throughout study.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
  • Processes blood and tissue specimens. Works with multiple hospital information systems such as Epic, Brain, Access, and Excel databases
  • Composes and types study correspondence and other documentation Attends and participates in regularly scheduled research and other staff meetings
  • Works with PI for grant proposal submission and progress reports; performs literature searches and drafts literature


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Willing to travel internationally occasionally, as needed Work hours
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as necessary
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers
  • Experience with computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office and front-end database applications (RedCap, OnCore)
  • Experience with BCM internal regulatory offices: PMRC and DRC Meets customer needs. Responds promptly and accurately to customers' complaints, inquiries, and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up; takes personal responsibility and accountability for correcting customer service problems.
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills, takes action and meets deadlines assigned by Manager and/or PI
