Job Description

Are you a scientist with experience in mammalian cell culture and chemo-proteomic workflows? Come bring your talents to Novartis and grow your career while making a difference to our patients!

The Chemical Biology and Therapeutics department is looking for a highly motivated and versatile candidate for a Senior Scientist I position to support chemo-proteomic and covalent drug discovery efforts by mass spectrometry.

Experience with protein/peptide analysis by mass spectrometry and familiarity with associated protein biochemical techniques (SDS-PAGE, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, tissue culture) is required. Exposure to chemical proteomics and quantitative mass spectrometry workflows (TMT, SILAC, DIA) is highly desired.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to grow into new fields by adoption of new techniques, and the ability to work independently and accurately on several concurrent projects in a highly dynamic environment. Applicants should have good organizational, team and communication skills, and should be able to critically and objectively interpret results and present findings to stakeholders.

Your responsibilities:

• Mammalian cell culture
• Application of common chemo-proteomic workflows and sample preparation methods including quantitative isotopic labeling strategies (i.e, SILAC, TMT)
• Operation and maintenance of liquid chromatography mass spectrometers and associated equipment in support of discovery programs
• Data reduction and analysis using equipment vendor and 3rd party software
• Preparation of reports summarizing results and interpretations
