Summary

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery & Scoliosis at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) in collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is looking to fill our research coordinator position. This is an opportunity to work side-by-side with TCH pediatric orthopedic surgeons, physicians and researchers. This position will expand your knowledge and exposure to the field of pediatric orthopedics and become involved in high-quality clinical and/or basic science research.

Job Duties

  • Participate in research activities which may include: subject recruitment, confirmation of subject eligibility, informed consent process, completion of case report forms, data clarification, IRB preparations and medical record abstraction.
  • Assist physicians/APPs/staff with preparing manuscripts, making presentation slides and posters, conducting literature reviews, updating study databases, and taking photographs in a clinical and operative setting.
  • Manuscript preparation may include: writing, referencing, editing, basic medical illustrating, statistical analysis, creating tables and charts, and preparing submissions for publication.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; preferred either in med school or recent graduate
  • Interest in paediatric orthopedics with vision/goal to become orthopedic surgeon
  • Computer literacy in a MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ACCESS plus internet use
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet timelines in a dynamic workplace environmen
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills, as interaction all levels of staff and research subjects is required
  • Research experience or demonstration of research interest
