Postdoctoral Position in Tumor Immunology

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Maryland School of Medicine. The candidate will study immunobiology and how immune cells contribute to tumor immunity and transplantation immunity. Our lab focuses on investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing T cell development, differentiation, activation, and effector function. Specifically, we are interested in immune checkpoint molecules, neurotransmitters, and cytotoxic pathways that are involved in the interactions among T cells, other immune cells and cancer cells in the setting of immune homeostasis, tumor progression and immune reconstitution after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. Our long-term goal is to develop immune-based therapies that are safe and effective for cancer patients. Currently we are studying cancer patients and mouse models, including syngeneic tumor models and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation, to develop cell-based or regulatory pathway-targeted cancer immunotherapies. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to work in a diverse, inclusive and well-mentored environment at this NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center.

Requirements:  Highly motivated PhD or MD/PhD students who graduated within five years are encouraged to apply.  A solid background and working experience in the following areas are highly desired:

1.  Immunology

2.  Mouse models of cancer

3.  Molecular and cell biology

Preferred candidates should be fluent in English.  Please e-mail an application including a cover letter describing current research, future interests, expected start date, and CV, selected publications, names and contact information of three references to:
