As part of a major, multi-year initiative to expand research activities across the IU Bloomington campus, the Microbiology program in the Department of Biology at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) invites applications at the Associate or Full Professor level in the area of Microbiomes; established Assistant Professors will also be considered. We welcome applicants who study microbial interactions using integrative approaches and methods, in any relevant environment, from soils to humans. Start date is flexible, from Aug 2023 to Aug 2024.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in relevant fields, with a strong record of research accomplishments and external funding. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain a vigorous externally funded research program, and to participate in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We also welcome candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to working with people from groups that are underrepresented in STEM, through teaching, mentoring, or administration.
