TENURE-TRACK FACULTY

The Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville (UofL) School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level with research emphasis on tumor immunology, particularly involving experimental immunotherapy.

Brown Cancer Center (BCC): The BCC is making critical contributions to clinical care through pioneering translational research programs. Much of the research performed in our laboratories over the past 20 years reaches clinical trials in humans, where new cancer drugs and diagnostics are being tested. The Immuno-Oncology program at the BCC has more than 20 members, and the research goals of this program are two-fold: (1) to activate host immunity against cancer cells and (2) to suppress inflammation that can lead to cancer.

Facilities and Research Partners: The UofL School of Medicine provides an outstanding research environment, and the majority of the departmental faculty are also members of either the Center for Predictive Medicine (CPM), Center for Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy (CCII), or Center for Functional Microbiomics, Inflammation and Pathogenicity (CFMIP). The current position offers a wide range of resources and collaborative research opportunities. The state-of-the-art facilities of the Immuno-Oncology program at the BCC include a biorepository for clinical specimen collection, a clinical trials office, and the newly purchased CyTOF and Hyperion Imaging Mass Cytometry (Functional Immunomics Core) to comprehensively phenotype immune landscape within the tumor microenvironment.

Candidate Requirements: The appointment is at the level of Assistant Professor, with a preference for candidates with a proven track-record of successful, high-impact research in the field of tumor immunotherapy. The successful applicant will participate in departmental activities, including mentorship of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, and fellows. The candidate will develop an extramurally funded research program. Women and Minorities are particularly encouraged to apply for the position. Minimum Requirements: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent

• Potential for research and educational interactions with the members of the Immuno-Oncology program of the         BCC
