The primary purpose of the Clinical Research Training Specialist position is to design and implement research training programs which in turn will assure the integrity of research data, secure compliance with institutional policy and procedures, and secure compliance with Federal Regulations and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines related to clinical Research.


Development and Implementation of Educational Programs (70%)
  • Utilize adult learning methods to develop training materials geared to target audiences and experience levels.
  • Develop and implement online modules and courses for clinical research programs.
  • Facilitate, develop course materials, and teach clinical research training programs.
  • Develop and update Human Subject Protection training programs.
  • Plan, develop and coordinate research orientation trainings
  • Educate research staff on established policies, processes, procedures, regulations and guidelines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across institution in developing research training including department or division requested in-services.
  • Collaborate on administering post audit/inspection research education to research teams.
  • Maintain training records as applicable
  • Develop curriculum regarding oncology clinical research
  • Participates in institutional committees to identify areas where training needs are necessary and contribute to the growth and development of research staff within the Institution

Institutional Resource (30%) Serves as a resource for assigned departments when interpreting the Code of Federal Regulations, Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice, and institutional policies to optimize protocol management and secure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Required: Bachelor degree in healthcare admin, nursing or related field.

Required: Four years of research experience to include at three years of clinical research experience.

Preferred: Experience with oncology trials, conduct and coordination experience.

Preferred Certification: Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP)

Required: Must pass pre-employment test as required and administered by Human Resources.
