Position Summary

Under the supervision of Dr. Lindsey S. Treviño, the Research Associate II will perform a variety of research experiments that involve development and characterization of an in vivo spontaneous model of ovarian cancer. The goal is to establish this preclinical model for mechanistic studies of disease progression, to identify potential biomarkers of the disease, and for testing therapeutics (including chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapies) as part of a larger translational research team focused on ovarian cancer. This position will also support additional projects in the Treviño lab as they arise.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform a variety of routine and non-routine laboratory research experiments. Record and validate results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Troubleshoot procedures if experiment results are unexpected or unsatisfactory. Recommend alternative procedures.
  • Responsible for accurately recording work performed including results and methodology. Calculate, compile, and analyze data obtained from work performed.
  • Independently evaluate research data and initiate alternative approaches to improve the quality of results by providing input to overall research design. Train lab staff in specialized procedures, equipment, and theoretical concepts behind unique tests.
  • May contribute to the preparation of manuscripts by describing methods and specialized techniques. Keeps abreast of new and improved techniques.
  • Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out in compliance with each procedure(s) by utilizing safety procedures and guidelines in handling, storage, and disposal of bio-hazardous, infectious and toxic material.


Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Bachelor's degree. Masters degree preferred
  • 2+ years of related research/laboratory experience with a Bachelor's degree or 1+ year related research/laboratory experience with a Master's degree.

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate's experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
