Drug Product Functional Lead, Global Drug Development, Schaftenau, Austria

45+ curious and engaged scientists are developing together 15+ Biologics in the Drug Product Development Team in Schaftenau (Tirol/Austria)! We are seeking you to join our team as passionate, experienced scientist, to lead a wide range of activities. Your key responsibilities:
• Drug Product Functional Lead is the scientific lead of the drug product technical development and is accountable for the scientific depth of development program.
• Design, plan, perform, interpret, and document scientific experiments for Biologics mainly proteins for drug product formulation development, pharmaceutical development; upscale of processes and process validations as well as registration of the medicines.
• Coordinates the local drug product sub-team with technicians and scientists to deliver the respective development packages. Represents drug product development in the extended project teams.
• Leads, manages and executes the technology transfers of drug product manufacturing processes from development sites and partners to internal/external manufacturing sites.
• Writing and reviewing of high quality reports for submissions, review of regulatory documents as scientific expert, creation of scientific papers and patents.
• Contributing to health care authority audits as subject matter expert.
• Support the growth of junior team members and motivate them as appropriate by an encouraging and servant leadership.
• Leading global initiatives and innovation programs regarding drug product development, process optimization and digitalization.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Ideally PhD or Master in pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology, chemical engineering or other relevant discipline like a data scientist.
• Experience (minimum 3 years) of work related to pharmaceutical industry in relevant roles e.g. drug product project leader, biologics formulation or manufacturing processes development, technical transfer, validation and submission, data scientist, statistics, quality by design, analytical expertise
• Proficient about quality principles, statistics, quality by design and analytical know how
• Understanding of GMP and regulatory aspects of pharmaceutical industry
• Experience with working in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural teams
• Excellent scientific/technical writing and presentation skills
• English language is the basis for communication in our international environment (oral & written)
• Open, curios mindset ready to challenge the status quo as well as ready to deliver in time, growing mindset mentality, work in a team, as well as single contributor, able to highly focused work periods

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 54.788,3/year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
