The Genome Sciences (GS) group at the department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics Department (CBT) in NIBR Cambridge USA, is a highly dynamic and collaborative environment that interfaces at biology, genetic engineering and genome analysis with pre-clinical development. We are seeking an early-career scientist to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary group working on pre-clinical lead discovery related to in-vitro cellular and phenotypic screening.

This position requires experience with cell and molecular biology and the ideal candidate should have some experience with automation. The candidate will be involved in developing assays for target identification and therapeutic concept with the ultimate goal of successful project transition into the clinic.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Develop and implement emerging cutting-edge technologies for disease-relevant cellular and biochemical assays compatible with HTS.
* Be familiar with some automation process and be able to execute mid to large screens using compounds or genetic reagents.
* Hands-on experience with either CRISPR and/or RNAi screening.
* Proficiency in molecular and cell biology techniques: implement techniques for gene expression analysis including Western Blot, RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, rt-qPCR and library construction.
* Conduct routine mammalian cell culture. Experience with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) culture preferred but not necessary for consideration.
* Candidate with expertise in bioinformatics or scripting language is also a plus.

Minimum Requirements

What You'll Bring to the Role:

* BS/MS with at least 3-5 years of technical experience.
* Ability to work independently, as well as with interdisciplinary teams.
* Excellent communicator and engage with multidisciplinary project teams to design, execute, and interpret experiments.
* Must be organized & detail-oriented, and adept at troubleshooting.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $84,000 and $126,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
