Summary

The candidate will be part of a research team consisting of medical professionals, scientists and technicians experimenting on novel immune based therapies for treating cancer. The candidate will function at the postdoctoral level of complexity that requires expert knowledge on immunology and cancer as well as skilled expertise in molecular biology, cell culture and immunology techniques. The research will focus on developing and optimizing novel gene modified T-cells against solid tumors. The successful candidate will build on the results of our laboratory's ongoing clinical trials to design and develop highly-innovative and specific gene modified T-cells and test them in relevant pre-clinical models of the disease.

  • Records and summarizes research data generated from experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Summarizes research findings and publishes results in research journals/conferences.
  • Possesses a strong background in immunology especially T- Cell biology and cell/molecular biology.
  • Maintains aseptic cell culture for production and propagates tumor lines and CAR T cells.
  • Performs genetic engineering techniques like PCR, cloning, design and production of viral vectors, gene silencing, functional cell assays (e.g., cytotoxicity, proliferation , growth assays).
  • Performs flow cytometry experiments alongside immunological assays including multiplex assays, ELISA, ELISPOT and Western blotting.
  • Works with small rodent models of cancer.
  • Performs Immunohistochemistry and associated image analysis.
